Radical honesty
How we make money
Most companies in travel would rather you never asked this question. We would rather answer it before you do, because the answer is the single best reason to trust our advice.
So here it is, in plain language, on its own page. If anything below is unclear, ask us and we will explain it the same way.
The whole model, one paragraph
We charge one flat service fee per trip. That's how we make money. Some wholesale channels we book through have standard industry margins built in that no agency can remove. But because our fee is flat, we have zero incentive to steer you toward anything. Where wholesale rates save money, the savings go to you, not us.
What the fixed fee covers
One fee. The whole trip, designed and arranged.
Route design
A bespoke day-by-day itinerary built around your taste, your budget and realistic driving days, by designers who live on these roads.
Every booking, arranged
Premium rental car through internationally trusted rental partners, hotels matched to your brief, and pre-located parking garages at every stop.
The companion app
Your whole trip in one place, available only to Easy Escape travellers: rental voucher, hotel confirmations, parking, and one-tap handoff to Google Maps or Waze.
Support while you drive
A real person who knows your itinerary, reachable while you are on the road. Not a call centre reading your booking reference back to you.
Why fixed matters
The guesthouse and the palace
Picture two travellers planning the same route. One wants a family-run guesthouse with breakfast on a terrace. The other wants a five-star palace with a spa and valet parking.
On a commission model, the designer earns far more from the palace, so guess which one gets recommended. On our model, both travellers pay us exactly the same fixed fee. Whether you choose a guesthouse or a five-star palace, our fee stays the same, so we have no incentive to upsell.
That means when we say the guesthouse is the better choice for your trip, it is because it is the better choice for your trip. There is no other reason left.
Fair questions
Asked and answered, honestly
Is the fee really fixed?
Yes. It is one flat service fee per trip, agreed before you commit. It does not scale with your hotel category, your car class, or how much you spend. Whether you choose a guesthouse or a five-star palace, our fee stays the same.
Do you take kickbacks from hotels?
Here is the honest answer. Some wholesale channels we book through have standard industry margins built in that no agency can remove. What matters is the incentive: our fee is fixed, so we earn the same regardless of which hotel you pick. Where wholesale rates save money, the savings go to you, not us.
Why not work on commission like everyone else?
Because commission changes the advice. A designer paid a percentage of your booking earns more when you spend more, so every recommendation carries a quiet conflict of interest. A fixed fee removes that conflict: the only way we win is by designing a trip good enough that you come back and tell your friends.
